The Ghost of Perfection

I am really excited to share with you that my book ‘The Ghost of Perfection’ has been accepted for publication. I will be working with the publishers Wipf and Stock to bring my book out in 2017, with a foreword by Michael Hardin from Preaching Peace.

Please could you help me spread the word?I will be posting regular updates, videos, quotes and readings from the book, exploring the themes within it. Sign up to my blog, head over to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for regular updates.

‘Broken community and relationships? Fear, anxiety and distrust?

What does it mean to be human? In what ways do we dehumanise others and become dehumanised ourselves? What role does church and culture have in attitudes of dehumanisation? How do we reclaim and celebrate our humanity?

In this wide-ranging and provocative book I address these questions, questions about what it means to be human.

Within these pages I will examine and explore themes such as violence, sex, beauty and consumerism, and the ways, ideas and attitudes that lead to dehumanisation, that in turn lead to destructive and broken relationships, with ourselves, with others, and with God. I explore these themes with the help of film, television, ancient and modern writers, of faith and of none.

I will not leave you there though as I seek to present what it positively means to be human and how we might pursue, reclaim and celebrate our humanness, a humanness I believe is discovered fully, totally and wonderfully in the person of Jesus of Nazareth.’

If you would like me to come and speak with your church/community group/college/university then please message me, or get in touch with me for more info.

Thanks so much. Peace.
